While relatively new to South Africa the benefit of a specialist Health Facilities Planner as part of the standard Consulting team has long been recognized in both Europe and North America. In 2008 we welcomed Sydney Mafu to the Company to establish our own Health Facilities Planning Division. Sydney, one of only a handful of qualified Health Facilities Planners in South Africa, is based in our Bhisho office and while advising on our own projects is also actively marketing his skills to other Consultants and Client bodies.
The focus of this Division is to ensure that we as a Company maintain the highest standards of design and are kept abreast with current trends in Health Facilities Design worldwide. We are also actively engaging in the education of the healthcare industry management through lectures & training courses at both Wits and Nelson Mandela Bay Universities.
We have been actively involved with assisting both the Eastern Cape and Western Cape Health Depts to develop appropriate norms & standards and have carried out audits of every health facility in the Eastern Cape for the Provincial Government.
